Well, since you asked!

Hi! I don't want to do homework! So here's my very first installment of "Well, since you asked!" From time to time, I'll be posting some odds and ends that I found on the old interwebs. I got home today at around 3:30, after not being home for two days. How was Bruno, you ask? Still alive, believe it or not! Anyway, relishing in my alone time, I spent the entire afternoon (up until now, in fact) watching tv and looking at my computer. What a treat! Here's what I learned:

The Hawaii Chair infomercial is awesome. I was up at school all weekend and I couldn't stop talking about (and reenacting) this infomercial. You'll see why.

Tonight's Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion was bananas. That's all about that.

I was doing research for my Directing I class (see? homework. so shut up.) and I found this flickr group page with lots of pretty photographs while I was looking for a picture of a sad clown. He was in there, and so were lots of other winners. I especially like the girl's foot against the glass, the creepy girl that glued her head to that wall, and the bored girl and her friend who doesn't appreciate you staring at her while she plays with her toys.

Lastly, here are some of my favorite looks from this years Emmy's! They're broken up into two categories: Good Jorb and Bummer. I'm no Tavi, but I do have a shirt with a menorah on it that says "light my fire" and for some reason, I feel like this entitles me to a foremost and highly credible fashion opinion. So there. And here! Be sure to click on them if ya want, they get bigger.
Good Jorb:My favorite of the night, good jorb Betty Draper!Felicity looks so pretty in the dress from the Dirty Dancing costume vaults, I love it a lot!Me and that lecherous guy really like this one too. My favorite incestuous couple look super great too! Although this dress only has one long sleeve (kind of a bummer) and Dex's hair looks a little silly curly like that, Sue Sylvester would be pissed (also kind of a bummer), but otherwise, just lovely!Jessica Stein and that dumb guy from 30 Rock looked amazing. I like the color and she seems like a real nice lady.I know I might be alone on this one, but I really like Whip It's dress. She looks like she was styled by her gal pal Drew Barrymore. The hair, the dress, even that slightly sideways smile! All in all, I'm a fan!
Joan! She's wonderful! And that cleavage made this post officially NSFW, so hooray!

And now...Bummer:Bummer. And no, not because one of her hands looks like a creepy claw. Bummer because it looks straight outta the movie Beetlejuice, and not in a good way. In a this napkin covers my boobies way.Bummer, too shiny. Bummer, too vagina-y.

Bummer. But only because I don't have a peeper to stick in that hole.

Okay! So that's all. Now I'll go to sleep so I can make it to my 8am Philosophy class! What a stupid idea. Philosophy at 8am.

Leisure in the Seventies.

Here's how this came about:
My dear Sister of my Life was chatting with her sister-in-law, Josie, about what Josie should do with the 48 cubbies that surround an archway in her house. Arielle joked that she should use my latest
art project to fill those empty cubbies, saying, "Helen's got a lot of little porn pictures. I suppose you could put those in there." Josie rightfully and politely declined (she's got a sweet little girl that might not be interested in having pornography on the walls), but suggested that I put my little projects up on the interwebs for people to look at, "Just tell her to stamp a NSFW on there and put 'em on up," she said. So thanks Josie, I did it!

Truthfully, I've been looking for an outlet to post some of my theatre stuff and art stuff, life stuff really. The life I'm living when I'm not working at the job that I love. So. What better way to kick off this here blog, than a sneak preview of the art project I've been working on! I am 50 tiny canvases into a series called "Leisure in the Seventies" but I will be making at least 150 more before this project is complete. They're made from vintage pornography from the 1970's. My inspiration for this project was from the musical I'm directing at Texas State, The Last Five Years. The plan is to fill one wall of our set with these little buggers. I really fell in love with them, and the process of making them. With every new batch, I find myself picking out a new favorite. At the moment, I'm in love with No.41, "eve on a table," but before her, I adored the girl with the giant nipple. Not your average nanny, I suppose. There you have it, Not Suitable For Work!

ps. They're all for sale, of course. $5 a canvas, or interesting trade, or free to a good home (if I know you and like you). Sorry the picture quality sucks, but I think you can click on the photos to make them bigger, no? Great. Well thanks for reading!
